Understanding that the quality of both interior and exterior spaces influences human behavior, various concept ideas were explored. Adding natural light into a totally artificially lit space was a priority. Therefore, glass storefronts perimeter windows and skylights were added to the building’s exterior. Additionally, the understanding and incorporation of color psychology, in addition to architectural volumes, as well as interior and exterior gathering spaces for both occupants and visitors were important design elements identified as “musts” to transform the space.
When exploring big changes and strong conceptual ideas, the sky is the limit. 3D modeling is the perfect tool to explore this. This 3d modeling technology helped us demonstrate our experimental design concept and helped our client visualize our design intent. As the images shown illustrate this fresh and incredibly fun conceptual design process. We are fully aware that this very ambitious concept needs to be turned into reality and more importantly, constructible. Further use of 3D modeling technology in the design phases to come help us achieve this very important goal.
