Project Overview

• Ferries del Caribe needed to relocate to another docking area that does not have a Terminal Station

• Design of a new terminal building including:

  • Passenger drop off area
  • Passenger pick up area
  • Parking
  • Vehicle ramp to load cars onto the ferry
  • Ticketing area
  • Passenger waiting area
  • Commercial spaces including stores and restaurants

The proposed design for this new ship’s terminal located along the San Juan bay included a design approach where the sky is the limit. Using 3D modeling technology enabled the Design Team at DDD Architecture to create a modern and inviting new building to occupy a lot located within the “Triangulo Dorado” in San Juan. This modern approach incorporated a lot of glass to enable views to the bay area. Functional spaces include a passenger drop-off area, a passenger pick-up area, ticketing, a passenger waiting area, a vehicle loading and unloading ramp in addition to commercial spaces.
