12 Feb DDD Group’s President, Umberto Donato, Selected for New Infrastructure and Construction Council
We are proud to announce that DDD Group’s President, Umberto Donato, has been selected as one of the five founding members of the newly formed Infrastructure and Construction Council. The council was officially introduced at the Association of General Contractors, Puerto Rico Chapter (AGC-PR) swearing-in ceremony for their 2025 Board. This vital initiative, led by the Honorable Jenniffer González, Governor of Puerto Rico, is aimed at accelerating Puerto Rico’s reconstruction efforts by improving the efficiency of permitting processes and ensuring that federal reconstruction funds are utilized effectively.
The council comprises five distinguished leaders from the construction industry: Eng. José Torrens, Eng. Humberto Reynolds, Eng. Francisco Díaz Massó, Mrs. Waleska Rivera, and Arch. Umberto Donato. As a licensed architect with extensive engineering expertise, Donato brings a unique, integrated perspective to the council, drawing from his successful experience as the owner of a design-build firm. His work on numerous complex and high-stakes federal projects has shaped his comprehensive understanding of both the technical and practical challenges involved in construction. This combination of architecture and engineering knowledge positions him as an invaluable asset to the council.
“I am honored to be selected for this important role,” said Donato. “My background in both design and construction allows me to contribute meaningfully to the council’s work. We must find innovative solutions to streamline the permitting process and ensure that reconstruction funds are used effectively to rebuild our communities.”
Umberto Donato’s deep experience in overseeing intricate design and build projects—particularly those that require adherence to strict federal regulations—will be pivotal in guiding the council’s strategy. His leadership in complex public infrastructure and private development projects, coupled with his commitment to sustainable practices, will undoubtedly shape the council’s work in building Puerto Rico’s future.
At DDD Group, we are excited about Humberto’s involvement in this critical initiative. His vision and strategic insights will play a key role in strengthening Puerto Rico’s infrastructure and ensuring its resilience for future generations.
